Recap of Denied Access: Flow for Access

On Sunday, August 26, we had the wonderful experience of gathering at Baby Cobra Yoga for a vinyasa and meditation class benefiting ACTUM. Proceeds from the event supported our summer reproductive healthcare access campaign, Denied Access.

Baby Cobra Yoga is a donation-based yoga studio in Bushwick, NYC. We were fortunate to have Jen, an abortion and death doula, lead our class. Our goal was to bring together members of the local and wellness communities for a meaningful yoga session, followed by a powerful discussion and time to connect. And, of course, there was delicious post-workout food, generously sponsored by Roberta’s Pizza!

Our partners at Lasting Change were also there to share more about their mission and collective vision for sustainable, intentional giving. Through their app, people can connect a card and round up their spare change to support charities they care about. We are honored to be one of Lasting Change’s featured charities, and we share their belief that small individual steps can create a lasting impact for the causes we care about.

Overall, it was a beautiful event filled with mindful and curious conversations about important topics, including the funding crisis and what meaningful access to reproductive healthcare actually looks like. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and helped create such a thoughtful community space.
