This November, ACTUM Giving is proud to partner with Global Impact Project (GIP) for a special community event: Giving Day on the Farm, taking place on November 8th in Austin, TX.

Hosted by GIP, the day blends philanthropy and connection in a relaxed outdoor setting. Families, friends, and supporters will gather to share in farm-to-table food, children’s activities, live entertainment, and community-led auctions, all with one shared purpose: making a meaningful impact.

Supporting Community Health

This year, Giving Day on the Farm will feature free health screenings designed especially for children, with an anticipated 100 attendees . Families will be able to access simple wellness checks, such as blood pressure and temperature monitoring, in a setting that feels approachable and supportive.

In addition, the event will offer a safe space for parents to speak directly with medical providers about any health concerns they may have, creating opportunities for open conversation and reassurance. By making care both accessible and community-centered, families can take part in preventive health support that might otherwise feel out of reach, and have the opportunity to sign up for a subsidized insurance plan.

At ACTUM Giving, we are committed to making sure families who might otherwise face barriers to healthcare can participate in this opportunity. That’s why we’ve set a goal to fundraise $1,000 to help support the medical screenings. With this, we’ll contribute to supplies and ensure families walk away with more than just memories, leaving with peace of mind about their health for their children.

Why Screenings Matter

Access to healthcare is not always guaranteed, especially for under-resourced families. Screenings help catch health concerns early, reduce risks during seasonal outbreaks, and provide a bridge to further care. Something as simple as a blood pressure check or a flu shot can make a powerful difference in keeping families healthy, especially for young children.

Although it’s true that not every person responds positively to standard vaccines, they remain an essential tool for protecting the most vulnerable among us. Children, older adults, and individuals with compromised immune systems often benefit the most, as vaccines help reduce the spread of seasonal illnesses and create a safer environment for the entire community.

About Global Impact Project

What began in 2023 as a passionate student club at Duke University has grown into a global nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of underserved children. Global Impact Project connects universities with nonprofits to build lasting partnerships that drive innovative, sustainable, and scalable educational initiatives.

Join Us in Making an Impact

At the heart of this event is the belief that everyone deserves access to basic healthcare. For many families, cost or access can create barriers to something as simple as a wellness check or a seasonal vaccine.

If you’d like to be part of this impact, we invite you to support our $1,000 fundraising goal for the medical screenings. Together, we can ensure families leave this event with both joy and the care they deserve.
